An economically and practical solution for transferring Liquid Nitrogen exists where double-wall insulated tubing is commercially available. This application eliminates the need for the more expensive and fixed Vacuum Jacketed alternative. Just simply cut and reconnect with compression fittings or solder joints. The foam can be slit, glued, and taped for seamless and frost-free joints.

Foam Insulated SSTL Pigtails
- Custom made short sections (up to 5 meters) are offered as flexible Stainless Steel inner tubes with a 20 mm thick outer jacket. Ends are fitted with 0.25-inch or 0.375-inch plain ends with Phenolic transition caps. These Pigtails are a convenient and low-cost alternative to connecting biological refrigerators in series. Swagelok nuts or other terminations can be installed at KIC. These hoses are intended for low pressure service of 50 psi, or less.
